ARRO's board of directors is composed of five parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as three additional concerned community members. The board is dedicated to bringing the best possible care to families at a reasonable and sustainable cost. Jeanine Werchniak, President
Jeanine Werchniak has a passion for children's service programs, and has worked on several child-related boards, including one for the Toddler's Morning Out, the Hanover Nursery School, the Cub Scout Pack 377 Committee, and her local PTO. She volunteers at her church as a Religious Education teacher. She is currently serving on the board for the Birchtree Center for Children, a NH DOE approved, school for children with Autism. She is also a Parent to Parent contact and an Autism Society of New Hampshire member.
She is the mother of six children, including a child with Autism.
Morris Courchesne, Treasurer
Morris Courchesne is the retired Owner and CEO Chesapeake Wall Covering Corporation. Having founded an international corporation, Mr. Courchesne brings considerable experience in strategic financial planning to the ARRO board. He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire where he received a graduate degree in Economics. He is the Grandfather of a child with Autism.
Kirsten Murphy, Secretary
Kirsten Murphy is the Executive Director of ARCH of the Upper Valley, Inc. a non-profit organization working to build regional capacity for the treatment and support of individuals on the autism spectrum. She is also a member of the NH Developmental Disabilities Council, on the board of Pathways (the NH Region Two Area Agency), and the NH Autism Commission. Ms. Murphy has extensive knowledge and advocacy experience related to disabilities in the state of New Hampshire. She is also the mother of three children, two of whom have an Autism Spectrum diagnosis.
Maria Kenney
Maria Kenney has actively participated in several boards and committees related to the Arts. She is currently on the Board of Directors for Womanade, a non-profit, dedicated to charitable acts for families in need. Ms. Kenney brings considerable experience in board development, and a talent for fundraising, to the ARRO Board of Directors. She is the mother of two children, one of whom has an Autism Spectrum diagnosis.
Katerina Pesiridis
Katerina Pesiridis has been active in supporting and researching intervention methods for children with Autism over the last several years. Ms. Pesiridis brings a passion for quality Autism-related services to the ARRO board. She is the mother of three children, including a child with Autism.
John Shaw
John Shaw has worked on starting new educational programs in public and private school settings, including special education initiatives , for the past 15 years. He is a former member of the Hampton Falls School Board. As the President of Kensington Consulting, Mr. Shaw has had direct involvement in the start-up operations of several commercial and not-for-profit organizations. He has an MBA from the Harvard Business School, and brings extensive experience in strategic planning to the ARRO Board. He is the father of three children.
Alec Sohmer
Alec Sohmer's law practice focuses primarily on business and real estate development, bankruptcy and business litigation. His relevant experience consists of negotiating complex contracts, developing and overseeing business projects and establishing the necessary management teams to effectuate successful implementation. Mr. Sohmer's legal expertise is an asset to the ARRO Board of Directors. Mr. Sohmer is the father of three children.
Kyle Szczepanik
Kyle Szczepanik is the Founder and Facilitator of Informed Hope ASD Autism Spectrum group. In addition to supporting families and caregivers caring for an individual with Autism/Asperger Syndrome, Informed Hope provides community awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorders to professionals, including police and fire departments. Her other related experience includes: 1997 PIC VA Graduate; 1999 IOD Leadership Graduate; Easter Seals Emergency Response Autism Task Force; Autism Society Member; SAU #44 Autism Task Force and Family Support; Strafford Learning Center Autism Task Force; Strafford Learning Center Transition Resource Network advisory board; Strafford County Prevention Board Member; Intensive support Sub Group, and NH Connections Seacoast Facilitator. Ms. Szczepanik's extensive involvement in Autism-focused initiatives assists the ARRO Board of Directors in keeping current with community events. She is the mother of three children, one of whom has an Autism Spectrum disorder diagnosis.
